SPLINTWRAPS™ WRIST WRAPS
A revolutionary splint wrist wrap system to maximize wrist support.
SPLINTWRAPS™ are a NEW improvement to the old wrist wraps. Based on the principle of medical splints, we developed the patent pending system that gives you unparalleled support of a splint with the compressive benefits of a wrap. Immobilize your wrists into perfect bar-wrist-elbow vertical alignment and improve your bench press with the most efficient power transfer.
1. BOMB PROOF STABILITY
Get maximal wrist support that no other wrist wrap on the market can match. No matter how thick or how long, wrist wraps still only provide bandage level of support.
2. ERGONOMIC SUPPORT PLATE
Adjustable patent pending design specifically engineered to accommodate the natural ergonomics of the closed human hand.
The support plate can easily be removed to utilize just the compressive support. Great for dynamic exercises where a bit of wrist mobility is necessary (Olympic lifting, functional exercises, front squats, etc).
BANDAGE vs SPLINT vs CAST
In medicine, a splint is a device used for the immobilization of a limb. Functionally speaking, currently available wrist wraps would ONLY be the equivalent of wrapping bandages. Since a cast is unrealistic for our purposes, SPLINTWRAPS™ give you the next best level of support that is far superior to regular wrist wraps. The removable support plate renders the backward wrist extension IMPOSSIBLE.
MAXIMAL WRIST EXTENSION SUPPORT
Backward wrist extension is the leading cause for wrist pain and tendinitis in the gym, as well as the breakdown of pressing form. Although old wrist wraps do provide a level of compressive support, heavy load will still cause wrist extension. This design has not been changed in 40 years and it has become a game of merely changing material length. After dozens of prototypes, we have improved on these outdated wrist wraps with a patent pending design. No amount of wrapping can compare to a splint.
SPLINTWRAPS™ wrist wraps main features:
◄ Ergonomically cut neoprene padding for metacarpal compressive support
◄ Soft comfortable edge band stitched thumb hole
◄ 60 cm elastic wrist wrap with hook/loop closure
◄ Adjustable ergonomically pre-formed support plate
◄ Reinforced stitching at stress points for extra durability
◄ Extra strength hook and loop closure
◄ SOLD AS A PAIR
The safest and most effective way to bench press is with straight wrists. Vertical alignment with neutral wrists keep your arms directly under the load for the most efficient power transfer. Heavy load tends to extend your wrists dorsally (backward) leading to wrist pain and bench press form failure. Not only are you fighting the unbalanced weight (load is now behind your vertical forearms), you are also struggling against the pain from hyperextended wrists.
REMOVABLE SUPPORT PLATE
SPLINTWRAPS™ can be used for all forms of pressing movements that require bar-wrist-elbow vertical alignment. Engineered to support the natural ergonomics of the human hand, it's been designed to keep your wrists in neutral position and directly under the load. You can also adjust the bend using standard tools or a vice to custom fit your natural angles, and depending on level of wrist extension support you prefer. The support plate can also be easily removed to use just the compressive wraps for dynamic movements (Olympic lifting, functional exercises, front squats, etc). With SPLINTWRAPS™ you get the best of both worlds.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do wrist wraps work?
Wrist wraps in general provide excellent compressive support to your wrist joints during any exercise, from curling to rowing to pressing. They help stabilize your wrist joint, allowing your larger muscle groups to work heavier weights. Our SPLINTWRAPS support plate system provides added benefit of giving you rock solid neutral wrist support, rending backwards wrist extension impossible.
What is the best way to wrap these?
With the support plate properly inserted, insert your thumb into the thumb hole of the neoprene metacarpal pad. Stretch out and wrap around the top of your hand, securing the top portion of the support plate. Work your way stretching and wrapping the wrap down and back up your wrist and forearm. Make sure the wraps are covering both the top and the bottom of the metacarpal pad. Adjust the support plate accordingly to match the angle of your wrist in neutral position. The soft flat seam thumb hole is comfortable so you do not need to take them off after wrapping like the string loops that dig into your hands in other wrist wraps. There are a lot of lifters who incorrectly wear wraps too low, essentially wearing a bracelet with no joint support (Imagine wearing knee wraps below the knee). SPLINTWRAPS design makes you properly wear the wraps by wrapping the entire wrist joint top to bottom.
The support plate doesn’t feel right/hurts. What am I doing wrong?
Make sure the steel support plate is inserted in the correct direction (longer end first) and adjust the angle to match your wrist angle. If it still feels a bit off, try adjusting the steel plate angle using a wrench or bending it in a vice. The ergonomically designed angles should be fine for most people’s hands and wrists. You can also adjust the angle to your preference for level of neutral angle support. Some lifters prefer absolute vertical bar-wrist-elbow alignment, while others want a bit of extensions, all depending on individual bending mechanics and mobility.
Are these wraps allowed in competition?
No. These are training aids to support you with proper neutral wrist alignment during pressing exercise training.
Can I use these wraps for exercises other than the bench press?
Absolutely. SPLINTWRAPS provide MAXIMAL neutral wrist support that renders backwards wrist extension impossible against the steel plate. This is great for all vertically aligned pressing exercises. However, the support plate can also be removed for use in exercises that require a bit of wrist extension – such as receiving a clean or during front squats. Without the support plate, SPLINTWRAPS also provide great compressive wrist support like other wrist wraps, but with added bonus of extra metacarpal compression.
Are these wraps covered by warranty?
We have the standard return policy from 90 days of purchase with proof of purchase. For unavoidable and expected manufacturing defects, please contact us ASAP and we’ll sort you out. Damages from normal wear and tear are not covered under warranty.
